When Benny was two, he was hooked on the question:
"Did this gwow?"
At least 20 times a day.
He held up everything...
The bowl. The apple. His shirt. The sandwich. His train. The blanket, the salamander...
Did it grow?!
Some were obvious. The apple. Yes. The flower. Yep. The tree. Uh, huh. Salamandar. Yes.
The sandwich? Well...technically. The wheat on the sandwich, yes. The spinach. Yes. The cheese...well yes. I mean, the growing cow ate the grass, and "grew" its milk. The chair? Well, that wood once grew. As did paper. The house, for that matter...yes. It grew!
He taught me something.
That plants are involved and connected to almost everything I partake of in my life.
And if it is not a plant, it is likely dependent, at some point,
upon one to exist.
I am grateful for those little dears.
They make the world beautiful. They live. They cleanse. They flavor. And shelter. And texture. And smell. They feed. They sustain. They enliven. They sit in my windowsill,
and cheer my soul.

I love this post! I am thankful too...so sweet.
