Permaculture

I love independence. I love sustainability. I love the earth. I am amazed by the great compatibility we have to it, and it to us. Sometimes, the irony of the situation most of us find ourselves, gets to me. The earth, in it's bounty, has all that we could ever need. Food. Shelter. Medicine. Life. Space to create and be.

And yet, many or most of us, must spend most of our time in the never-ending tasks. Earning money to buy these things that are already provided for us. Living with in harmony with the earth is an art that seems foreign, and sometimes unreachable. Sometimes I feel like a child at the zoo, looking through the glass at the fantastic creatures behind. I know they are real. I can see them. I know what they are. But haven't an inkling on how to interact with them.

Such as with nature.
I reverence it.
I am in awe of it.
I am blessed by it's bounty.
I am a student of it's nurturing.

And yet, if my local grocery store suddenly disappeared, I'd be toast.
And yet, if permaculture came into my life, it'd be different.
So, more to come...on permaculture.
